Surrender Surrender, a "documentary" based on a scripted story, derives material from Tung Wang Wu's interviews with Kinmen children and furthers a prevalent theme in Wu's work: juxtaposition, through which, Wu hopes to "provoke an accidental stream of unexplored thoughts" and achieve alternative perspectives on the conventions of life. A graduate of the Department of Architecture at Chung Yuan Christian University, Wu received his Masters degree in Media Studies from The New School University in 2000. Wu's short films have been chosen for the official selection at the Sundance Film Festival, the Brisbane Film Festival and the Sao Paolo Film Festival. Wu has also been a juror for the New York MIX Experimental Film Festival, where his work has been repeatedly featured. |
