| Xu Zhen's Shout is a multi-channel video installation depicting a fleeting intervention in the cosmopolitan public domain. Video footage of 40 sites in Shanghai depict a sudden scream by an unknown party that halting strangers on the street as they turn towards a hidden camera to ascertain the source . Shout explores the instinctive and universal human response to the unexpected, and acts- as the first work encountered upon entering the China pavilion-as an awakening. | |||||||||
